Description
Rarely is sufficient time given or put aside for writing briefs. In some cultures, the responsibility of such documents lie in the hands of the most senior executives or elders. The reason for this is their appreciation of just how important a clear, concise and focused brief is. It is a truism that the time you spend on preparing the brief is directly proportional to what you will get out of it. Therefore, the better the brief, the better the outcome. As each company will invariably have their own templates and styles of briefing documents, we will focus on certain fundamentals to the briefing process and writing of briefs:

The importance of doing your homework, asking the right questions and interrogating any and all assumptions
Uncovering real insights
The value of a strong structure
The power of emotive and descriptive language
Clarity and brevity – overcoming the temptation of filling the page
Setting realistic deliverables
Selling a brief – the art of seeking approval

This course:
Will examine the different types of briefs and highlight common tips and guidelines on how to write better briefs.
Offers a balance between generic guidelines and specific examples and will permit those attending to focus their attention on the specific types of briefs they want to work on.
Will involve some practice writing and evaluation, with some individual and group coaching.

Please register your interest to attend by Thursday 9th of September. We will confirm after registrations have closed on whether you have secured a place.
Members are advised to have received confirmation with direct managers to attend any NGen workshops prior to registrations of interest.
